MMU Autoshow 2009 Drift Challange

It was a rainy day at MITC, Melaka where a bunch of student organized an auto show, to continue the tradition which started way back circa 2004-2005. The autoshow, attracted many participant from Melaka and even neighboring states.

But as usual, the main attraction of the event was a drift session, jointly organized by drift.com.my as technical advisor and judge for the runs. Many top-notched drifter showed up; Arif and Jane from Sync Optima (where recently got a new sponsor, Goodyear. Congratulation for them!). Team Bridgestone with two of their ace drifter, Tan Tat Wei in AE86 Coupe (maybe his legendary TE71 in not good shape, and use his team mate car, Ivan Lau). STP sponsored Mazda RX7 FC-3S make its debut in Melaka soil, piloted non other then Ivan Lau (as we know, Ivan had changed through various drift platforms, from humble orange steel bumper KE70, FC-3S, AE86 Levin Coupe and back to FC-3S).

Sync Optima with 3 black cars, smoked the track all the way. The Team Principle, Arif Johanis, drift in his Silvia S13, equipped with 180SX front end. The machine powered by SR20 Black Top, the flagship version in SR20 engine series. The Black Top was introduced in Silvia S14 and S15 series, and can be recognized from its distinctive inclined at the one end of rocker cover.
Arif's wife, Azlina Jane, piloted 180SX with S15 front end. The look was menacing, and yes, it even looks fast, in a stand still. Jane was one of few female drifters in Malaysia drift scene. The third car was Jensen with his AE86 Levin Coupe. Matte black, it usually tricked spectators for its 'humble' appearance. Once on track, it was different story.

We, Soulclickers.studio consist of 2 photographer heads Melaka from Kuala Lumpur as early as 8 a.m. Reached at MITC, we greeted by loud screeching sound from drifting track.
